2011 will see a dramatic change this year with two new separate competitions. Following consultation with the riders a Sprinters League will be contested over the 19 weeks of the league with sprinters competing in sprint specific events every week .

2011 NTCA AGM
The Track AGM will take place on Thursday 12th January 2012, starting at 7pm at the same venue as last year, Biddulph Town Hall, High Street, Biddulph, ST8 6AR. Everyone is welcome.
2011 Track Prize Presentation
Friday 14th October 2011 at St John Fisher High School, Ashfields New Road, Newcastle, ST5 2SJ
Newcastle Track Cycling Association celebrated a successful year at their Prize Presentation evening which took place at St John Fisher High School last Friday. A large crowd assembled at the venue where part of the evening included a programme of roller racing for the under 16’s with some very spirited riding by all with some very close finishes. There then followed the awarding of this year’s trophies and medals. This year has been the best year at the league ever with 108 riders registered for the main competition and a amazing 64 riders in the youth freewheelers league. The Association has also organised two open meetings this year which included the National Tandem Championship and rounds of the National Youth Omnium, Sprinters League and Endurance League.

TL Report: 8th September 2011
The last event organised at the Newcastle Track this season on Thursday 8th September was an extra Freewheelers only night to celebrate the fact that this year the number of registered riders in this competition has increased from 34 in 2010 to 64 in 2011. With more time allowed every rider competed in 5 races with some fantastic racing witnessed by a large crowd of supporting parents and relatives. The competition was made into an Omnium this evening with the top 3 in each group being awarded medals and certificates. These were presented by recently crowned National Junior Scratch Champion, Robert Lambton, who also this year was the winner of the A Class Endurance League in the main Track League.

TL Report: 1st September 2011
The final round of this season’s Brooks Cycles sponsored Newcastle Track League took place on Thursday 1st September at the Lyme Valley Velodrome. The weather had been kind to the League this year with only two meetings lost throughout the 19 events and the final night saw warm and sunny conditions greet the large turnout of riders attending the final event.

TL Report: 25th August 2011
Round 18 of the Brooks Cycles Track League at Newcastle under Lyme, Staffs took place at the Lyme Valley Velodrome. With a number of riders away at the Youth and Junior Championships at Manchester and the usual holiday absentee’s the turnout was down on the season average however the racing was fast and furious with riders seeing a good opportunity to score points.

For the second week in a row the riders who attended the latest round of the Brooks Cycles Track League at Newcastle, Staffs were lucky with the weather as the heavy rain that was promised for the evening only resulted in a light shower which caused a slight delay to the main leagues races. With the use of the floodlight the 18 race programme was contested.

TL Report: 11th August 2011
It rained all day around the North Staffordshire area except for the area
where the Newcastle Velodrome is situated in the Lyme Valley. This no doubt
affected the turnout of riders which was down on previous record highs
however the riders who did attend were rewarded in an almost full
programme, only being cut short of the usual 10 mile at the end due to a
rain shower.
