Newcastle Track Cycling Association - Brooks Cycles Track League

Atherton moves Clear

Kenny Atherton

Week 15 of the Brooks Cycles Track League, Newcastle, Staffs saw Kenny Atheron of Lyme RC move clear at the top of the B Class Table

Atherton claimed victory in both the B Class Devil and 10 Mile Scratch events and consequently extended his lead at the top of the table

In the A Events, Martin Freeman of Team Corley Cycles made an impressive debut on the track storming to victory in 8 Lap Scratch and 8 Lap Points races

However these results didn't impact on the league standings, with 2005 and 2006 champion Andrew Magnier narrowing the gap on league leader Kian Emadi

Last night's league also marked perhaps the last appearance of Brooks Cycles/Velodrome.org.uk's Ed Nicholson who moves to York next week. Nicholson won the league in 2004 and all members of the NTCA wish him all the success for the future

In the Brooks Cycles Handicap League, Andrew Hewitt extended his lead at the top of the standings after he headed a Brooks Cycles one-two with fellow league sponsor Tony Brooks
